The Depth Psychotherapy Institute (DPI) was developed to provide training in depth psychology for professionals and graduate students. Although many of the training opportunities are designed for mental health professionals, several of the training opportunities are open to people in other related fields.
What is Depth Psychotherapy?
Depth psychotherapy refers to a collection of approach to therapy which value self-awareness, life-long growth and development, life meaning, and depth in intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. It includes humanistic, existential, psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, Jungian, Gestalt, and Transpersonal approaches to therapy.
What Type of Training is offered at the Depth Psychotherapy Institute?
Education.
DPI provides education on the theory and practice of depth psychology and psychotherapy. Various formats including reading/discussion groups, workshops, lectures, mp3 lectures, and online training are in development.
Supervision.
DPI may provide supervision for people who have received appropriate previous training in the theory and practice of depth psychotherapy.
Consultation.
For individuals desiring to expand their competency in depth psychotherapy, DPI provides supervision to licensed or otherwise appropriately qualified mental health professionals.
Certification Programs.
DPI is in the process of developing certificaions in both the theory and practice of depth psychotherapy.
